I slept for a long time last night. I went to bed at 8pm, and woke up around seven this morning. I’m still tired, and could probably sleep for another twelve hours, truth be told. I don’t have the time, because today is my drive to Seattle, but I could.

I had a really vivid dream last night that I didn’t remember until just a little while ago, and only one small part of it.

Back in April, on my way home from my trip to Spring Mysteries and San Francisco, I bought a wall-clock from this store that mom and I love that I’ve forgotten the name of. (Something Imports, I think. World Market or something.) The wall-clock was missing the hands and motor, so we got it half-price. It has skeleton keys where the numbers should be.

I bought this for Hecate. Not sure what I'm going to do with it.

I think you can guess Who I got it for.

I have plans for the this clock, and have for a while. I’ve been meaning to do something to the clock, like putting a picture of Hecate in the center of it to cover up the hole for the hands and motor and the words that say Hotel du Parc.

I dreamt that I was digging through a huge pile of stuff and uncovered the clock, still un-modified. The key in the “four” position was damaged.

The dream means something, I can tell — it has the feeling of a dream that means something, as opposed to “my subconscious drinks too much”, which is the feeling most of my dreams have.

I’m just not sure what.

  1. Eheh, Hekate is not named ‘Antaia’ for nothing – I have experience with receiving messages from Her via dreams that had a certain odd quality, even if She never appeared there directly.I might be that, if you got the clock for certain purpose connected to Her, She is trying to tell you something about how She wants it used… or something similiar. 😉

    1. Heh. While I was at Nanaimo Pagan Pride I told a friend about the dream (she’s also been poked by Hecate recently), and the first thing she asked me was “What’s the numerological meaning of 4?”

      Me: “Hard work. ….oh, fuck.”

So. However She wants the clock used, I have Work to do. Some things never change. 😉

      1. Mh, four is also for structure and therefore, for me, this leads straight to tradition and patterns…. when in relation with a clock… patterns and time, it might indicate past lives work – it’s my suspicion that Hekate concerns herself often with it… it was at least part of my work with Her.

  2. I suspect you are right that it does mean something. At least for me, when wild dreams happen they can be easily explained by my current waking issues and experiences, but it is those subtle dreams where some smaller details are so poignant that they are remembered that seem to have greater significance outside of the current sphere but also inclusive of it.

I wonder what the significance of 4 is to you. And time and Hekate. Hmm. She has been of he four ways too. And I suspect she uses time differently too.

I’m puzzled though. In any event, I hope you make something of the clock and have a rewarding time doing it.

  3. Very late reading/commenting here – partly “so much Internet, so little time”, and partly (the last few weeks anyway) life being interesting in the not-so-good way.

The store is Cost Plus. Now Cost Plus World Market; formerly Cost Plus Imports; once upon a time known (though this might only have been its Canadian stores) as Oceanic Cost Plus Imports. My teenage self’s favorite source of hippie-esque swag – alas, it’s not as cool as that any more.

I’m figuring the dream as, “When are you going to stop just meaning to fix up the clock, and actually FIX UP MY CLOCK?” Not to say there isn’t more work beyond chronometer-renovation hiding in there, but that’s where it begins.

YES! That is it. Thank you for finding my brain. 🙂

      …..yeeeaaaaaahhhhhh, you’re probably right.
